With 2017 coming to a close, we thought we'd take a look back at some of our favourite projects over the year.
With 2017 rapidly disappearing and 2018 coming into sight, we thought we'd share some of our favourite projects over the year.
1. Cambridge Judge Business School
Offering a suite of masters programmes which are ranked in the global top 20, and 14 interdisciplinary research centres delivering ground-breaking research and innovation, Judge Business School is a world-renowned business school in the heart of Cambridge. An extension to the main school building, the Simon Sainsbury Centre was designed by award-winning architects Stanton Williams to provide additional space. Portsdown were appointed to select and install furniture which met the needs of students and staff, whilst being aesthetically complimentary to the building.

2. Kent Reliance
Part of OneSavings Bank group, Kent Reliance has a 150 year heritage and specialise in providing award winning savings accounts, bonds and ISAs, with branches in Kent, West Sussex & Hampshire. Kent Reliance appointed Portsdown with the full design and refurbishment of their newest branch in Chichester, West Sussex. The project involved extensive bespoke joinery and the challenge of making use of limited space to create defined meeting areas and a reception area in this period building.

3. Baileys Artisan Gelato
A full refurbishment from demolition to fit out within a short 7 week programme. Bespoke joinery was a large aspect of the project with a bar designed and built to incorporate company branding as well as provide a stylish storage solution.

4. The Charter Building
Situated in central Uxbridge, London, The Charter Building is designed to home a community of companies, each with a space to fit their business. A double height reception area leads to the internal ‘street’ and reception desk in the heart of the atrium. This creates a central community space for informal meetings, and provides natural light to the office floors that look into it from above. The Portsdown team worked alongside the developer’s appointed architect to co-develop the furniture specification within the communal spaces of this exciting building relaunch.

5. Oxford Brookes University
Set in a historic student city, Oxford Brookes is one of the UK’s leading modern universities and enjoys an international reputation for teaching excellence and innovation as well as strong links with business and industry. As part of the refurbishment of the university’s flagship Clerici Building, a wide selection of products designed to promote collaboration and student engagement were selected and installed by Portsdown.
